Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2008 is here and gone. I feel so blessed to have such a loving family. We had a wonderdul day visiting, eating, and opening presents. I only hope that the new year will continue to be a time of happiness and success for my family. I always take time to remember Dad and how much he would enjoy spending time with his children and grandchildren during the holidays. His spirit lives on in each of us and he will always be a part of our Christmas memories. To all of my friends and family reading this, I say Merry Christmas and thank you for being a part of my life.

October, November, December

I know it's been a while since I've updated this blog, so I thought I would just share some pictures of the past couple of months. In October, we had our 10th Crop-Over, plus Joe and I were busy with our daily routines. Here's a few pictures from the crop:
In November, Joe and I went to Cedar Point with the Metzkers. Although it was cold, we had a great time and Evan was adorable in his bat costume.

Of course, we had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Afterwards, I tried to take a family picture, but no one cooperated. Then we were out the door at 2:00 am for Black Friday shopping. Nathan and Natalie went with us this year. We drove to Teresa's house and hit the stores before 5:00 am. We finished our day 17 hours later!
Now that we've made it to December, I'm sure we'll be busy with Christmas events. One of our traditions is to invite over my family for the evening. This year we included the newest members of our family, the Metzkers to join us. Also, this was the first family Christmas event for Dennis'
new wife Brenda.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

We have been trying to get to the zoo for a few years and finally made it this summer. We spent two nights in Columbus with our friends Mike, Kathy and Evan Metzker. We had so much fun and it was nice to get away. We were even able to talk Joe into swimming in the pool at the hotel. He hasn't been swimming since a "pool incident" a few years ago. However, with a little convincing, we were able to talk him into it and I know he had fun.
Since we are now beginning football season, this was my last chance to spend the weekend with Joe. Sometimes I think we are so busy with life that we don't take the time to stop and enjoy it. This was such and enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Now I will be a football widow until the end of October.

Is Summer Over Already?

Okay, I swear that I really tried to keep up with my blog. However, as you can tell, my last post was in May and it is now almost the end of August. Where did the summer go? I truly believe that the older we get, the faster time flies. This picture was taken at Tuscora Park on July 5th. Joe and I went to watch the fireworks with our friends the Metzker's. After that we had VBS, went to the Columbus Zoo and now we're heading back into football season. I really enjoy the fall, so I am looking forward to cool nights and the leaves changing colors.

MY TRIP TO CINCY

I spent this past weekend visiting my friend Amanda in Cincinnati. Now, Amanda knew that I was coming, but she didn't know that Myranda was coming down with me. Getting there was a bit of a struggle. First, my new car got a flat tire. Which, made me 1-1/2 hours late picking up Myranda. Then, we ran into rain in Columbus, which became continually worse the farther south we traveled. Then we were stuck on I-71 for about 40 minutes due to an accident. I think we arrived around 10:30. Amanda was pleasantly surprised and we stayed up until 2 am talking.

I had my first pedicure while in Cincy. We went to the Venetian Nail Spa. We had so much fun. Dennis worked his magic on my feet. I was in heaven!!! My pedicure definitely confirmed that I do have a foot fetish. As sick as it may sound to others, I loved having someone work on my feet. I told Amanda that I will be back at the end of summer for another one.

We also did some scrapbooking at the store that Amanda works at and went to dinner Saturday at the Cheesecake Factory.

Amanda and I have been friends since 7th grade and I love her so much. We have helped each other through difficult times and been there to celebrate to happy moments. It was so nice to spend quality time with her and just have fun. In high school we would go to Cincy to visit her sisters at college and just have the greatest time together. I am so blessed to have such an amazing friend in my life.

I had so much fun but it's always nice to come home to Joe and Foley.

Myranda and I had so much fun during the ride to and from Cincy. I would say that after this trip I have a made a true friend. She is so sweet and kind-hearted. She is a wonderful wife and mother and most importantly an excellent representative of what a Christian woman should be.
